Inline edit in Data Grid / Template Grid

Hi All,

I have two entity -Entity1 & Entity2 have reference set relation between them. I would like to do inline edit.

1) Data Grid -  I am getting error message   - "A column containing an attribute of a reference set cannot be editable.Grid column"

2) List View -   It allows inline edit but via select page.(which I don't want)

Is there any work around to get inline edit as drop down ??
