MDA file generation without sampledata

Is there a possibility to generate the deployment package (mda file) without the sampledata inside ? For local testing we have a large amount of sample data (250 Mb), which is de majority of the MDA file size. This data is not used when we deploy and therefore we like to generate a deployment package without sample data. Is that possible.  (de sampledata is useful for local testing, so therefore we do not want to remove it from the repository)
