ColorPicker widget broke in 6.9 - TypeError: $ is not a function

After converting my project from 6.8.1 to 6.9 the color picker widget broke giving the following error in the browser console:

mendix.sys.Data.get: error in handler for 8725724278032039: ColorPickerwidgetColorPicker0.applyContext: Error: ColorPickerwidgetColorPicker0.applyContext: TypeError: $ is not a function

Is this something that can be fixed easily?
